January 2024 Good Newsletter
It's everything I'm trying to understand and all that needs to be said right now.
Several weeks after finishing the book, I still think about it all the time. When I’m listening to the news and another abuser is exposed. When I’m having conversations with men who are surprised at the fact that every woman we know – including me – has experienced male aggression. I talk about the book with family. I read it out loud to friends. Have you read or do you plan to read this book? Let’s continue the conversation — click here!
GOOD NEWS ON CLIMATE: U.S.
Voters 65 and older are the second most likely age group — after young voters — to prioritize climate. EV sales topped one million in 2023 — a 50% increase from the previous year – and the first federally funded charging station opened in Ohio. As commercial offshore wind projects stumble, New York’s surges forward and to get to YIMBY, “It is essential that developers engage with local communities as early as possible and involve them in the decision-making process in a tangible way.”
GOOD NEWS ON CLIMATE: EU/UK
Germany's new highway charges electric trucks as they drive, this new initiative repurposes retired EV batteries for energy storage, and electric airborne ferries are flying in Sweden. In Ireland, right to repair is set to save four million tons of GHGs annually.
Finally, what’s solar thermal, you ask? It just might be the future.
